These are fantastic sounding headphones with ultra clear and precise sound from the titanium plated drivers. They're light due to their plastic construction and they're super comfortable, as well.
What really drew me to these headphones was the promise of
up to 40% less pressure to my eardrum. There is so much talk these days about
how headphones and ear buds are damaging hearing and while much of this
information is false, it’s still nice to keep as little pressure on the drums
as possible. This is especially true when you don’t have to sacrifice any
quality.
What excited me even more than the reduced pressure was the
reduced radiation levels. The Ultrasone Proline 750 S-Logic headphones have a
nifty way of using ULE technology with MU Metal shielding to cut out up to 98%
of the radiation that would bombard you if you were using another brand of
headphones. That is fantastic! With some studies showing that radiation from things
like cell phones and headphones can cause health problems this really puts my
mind at ease.
Another thing that we all look for when it comes to
headphones is comfort. I love the velvet ear pads, they are so soft and comfortable
that sitting through a movie will be a breeze. You can see by looking at them
that the ear fits very nicely in the center of the thicker velvet pads. These
are not going to crush up against your ear uncomfortably like some brands of
headphones.
But it’s the sound that really sells these surround sound headphones.
The Ultrasone Proline 750 S-Logic headphones have stiff titanium plated drivers
that produce powerful and extremely precise sound that is clear and bright. These
make use of "s-logic" and this is one of the more intriguing advances
in headphone technology. It is all about natural surround sound. So instead of
your inner ear getting the sound directly the sound actually directed at
different parts of the ear—through decentralized driver positioning-- for a
more three dimensional sound. It also escapes the headphones and
"surrounds" your head for a sound that is fuller and more natural.
S-logic also increases the precision and accuracy of sound for a whole new level
of listening ability.
The one thing that I would change about the Ultrasone
Proline 750 S-Logic headphones is the copious amount of plastic used in their
construction. They are almost entirely made out of plastic. The headband, the earpieces
even the joints where pieces meet are all plastic and that gives these a cheap
feel. On the other hand this does keep the headphones nice and light and
probably adds to the comfort level.
These Ultrasone Proline 750 S-Logic headphones may feel
cheap but they don’t sound cheap and that is the most important thing. I like
the clear, unmuddied sound that they produce and the fact that they are
comfortable is just icing on the cake.
