These headphones aren’t promising because there’s a 50/50 chance they’ll turn out decent. They’re unpredictable and not worth the risk. Especially not when there are other headphones on the market you can trust.
I heard different things about the Sennheiser RS 130
headphones before I decided to try them myself. It seemed like those who liked
them loved them (having zero problems) while those who didn’t like them hated
them and had nothing but problems. So needless to say, I was intrigued.
It’s a common complaint that these wireless headphones are
full of static and all kinds of strange high-pitched noises. When I put them on,
I expected this but I was pleasantly surprised when all I heard was the DVD I
popped in. The sound was great - clean and clear. I didn’t hear a lick of
static at all and I loved the surround sound feature.
Next, I tried these on the computer. I thought perhaps this
would have an adverse affect on the headphones but it didn’t. The sound was
still clean and great.
At this point I wasn’t sure what to think, so I had my
friend try them out at her house. She didn’t have the same Sennheiser RS 130 experience
I did. She heard some static, not an ungodly amount, but it was there, and she
had to move around the room to find clear spots. Needless to say, that’s not
something you want to bother with when you’re watching a movie.
The only thing we both agreed on was the comfort level of
the Sennheiser RS 130 headphones. They’re soft and wonderful to wear, and they
didn’t make my ears hot. I was also able to get the full 22 hours of battery
life after a full charge. It baffles me that these headphones are so random.
It should also be said that I’ve tried the Sennheiser RS 120
headphones and while they’re fine, the added surround sound feature in the 130
makes for a much more enjoyable experience. Yes the 130 costs more, but I think
it’s definitely worth it, especially if you want to watch movies (well, if they
happen to work well for you, that is).
