The Good

What’s not to love about the Sennheiser hd555 heaphones? The surround sound is topnotch with superb sound separation. The clear sound and the comfortable earpieces make these headphones one of my favorites for listening to music and watching movies.

The Bad

It’s really not a big deal, but the only downside to the Sennheiser hd555 surround sound headphones is that the bass isn’t the most powerful out there. However, it’s still plenty strong for the majority of us. I know I don’t need anything more powerful.

The Sennheiser hd555 surround sound headphones perform well in every respect: from listening to different kinds of music to watching action packed movies.

I just love the way these surround sound headphones fit over the ear. Unlike other styles of headphones the Sennheiser hd555 earpieces don’t push up against the ear at all, instead they go around it. So the soft cushioning is going to touch your head when you put them on, not the ears. I love how the soft edges hug the ear for a comfortable fit.

These are one of the best headphones to watch movies on your home theater system with. Let me tell you, the Sennheiser hd555 brings a new dimension to horror movies. You know those scenes that make you jump and make your heart skip a beat? Those are magnified with these headphones - the sound’s totally there. It’s like you’re right there in the movie with the main character. That’s what I look for in good surround sound headphones and the Sennheiser hd555 headphones have got it.

In terms of watching movies, the sound placement is what sets these headphones apart from the rest. They’ve done an outstanding job of sound separation. Everything comes from the right direction and at just the right level - it’s truly stunning. I find movies are more enjoyable to watch when wearing these.

The bass is good on these, as well. It may not be the best I’ve ever heard, but it’s definitely not something that’ll take away from the movies you watch or the music you listen to. These even handle rap and hip hop well.
