The Good

Lifetime warranty. Inexpensive. Fairly smooth sounding. Laid back. Serve double-duty as ear warmers. Comfortable.

The Bad

Top end can be excited. Midrange is slightly recessed sounding. Bass is punchy, but not tight at all. Sonic presentation might bore some who like it more in their face. Need some juice to really open it.

Koss Clipz Sportsclip Sterephone: Somebody is Getting Clipped?

A little pair of sportsclips that sound big and keep your ears warm in the cold winter night.

The new Koss Clipz is modeled after the KSC7 Sportclip™, and combines the Sportclip stereophone in a portable bag. It was designed without the need for a conventional headband by clipping easily and comfortably around the ear for a secure fit.   

The Clipz Incorporates a neodymium iron boron magnet and oxygen-free copper voice coil, the Clipz also delivers a frequency response of 50-20,000 Hz. Made of a soft, pliable rubberized material, the Clipz provides maximum comfort during long listening sessions. A 4-foot straight cord and L-plug allows easy movement and reliability when used portably.

For $9.99, the Clipz is surprisingly clean sounding, although the midrange could use some additional meat in order to give the overall sonic presentation some presence. As it stands, it is laid back sounding. The bass response is punchy, but lacks real control. The top end is relatively clean sounding, although I did hear some sibilance on guitar tracks. The overall package is quite appealing and it does work really well in the cold keeping your ears warm.
