Lost your beloved adaptor? No worries, for five dollars your problem is solved. For that price, this adaptor and many others might as well be something to just keep in arms’ reach for audio “emergencies.”

Ever lose the adaptor to your headphones?  Or go to plug something in and realize it’s the wrong size?  This adaptor, or any of dozens available at Radio Shack, will solve your problem with no hassle and little expense.

Audiophiles might scoff at anything audio coming from Radio Shack.  They can laugh all they want, though.  I keep a small bag of Radio Shack connectors in my studio, and they have never failed me.  This adaptor stood the rigors of our CEO and still works perfectly. 

Basically, this Radio Shack adaptor is a TRS (tip-ring-sleeve, a.k.a. stereo) that converts a quarter-inch male plug into an eight-inch male plug.  It is gold-plated for better signal transfer, and uses standard friction plates to hold your plug in place.  There is nothing fancy or different about this adaptor; it’s just the bare necessity.  It comes either coated in black plastic for the goth kids or a fashionable gold for the ghetto blasters (ours is gold, yo).  For under $5, it’s everything you need to make your audio ends meet.
