Why In-Ear Monitors?
In-ear monitors reduce noise by sitting inside the ear canal. These were originally developed for musicians performing on stage to reduce the amount of noise they were exposed too. Today, these are available to the public in two forms retail and custom. While retail models will fit comfortably into most ears, custom made in-ear monitors are usually molded after measurements determined by an audiologist for optimum fit and maximum noise reduction. The biggest benefit associated with most in-ear monitors is that they greatly reduce noise therefore allowing the listener to enjoy music at lower volume levels.
