Beyerdynamic is a leader in the development of headphones for both personal and professional use. Based on the "minimized mass technology", the highly acclaimed DT 8800 PRO and the DT 990 PRO were developed with even further reduced mass on the diaphragm and the moving coil. Beyerdynamic was founded by Eugen Beyer, who developed in 1937 the first dynamic headphone, the DT48. . In the early 1980s, Beyerdynamic introduced a new development - headphones with exceptional pulse behavior. In addition, the bass reflex system, which so far had only been applied for loudspeakers, was integrated into headphones for the first time in order to optimize the reproduction of low frequencies.
