Grado Labs has for almost fifty years been one of the leaders in design engineering in the high-end audio and recording industries. They are famous for their remarkable headphone designs and hold over 48 patents. Company founder, Joseph Grado, passed on the mantle of President to his nephew, John Grado, who led the development of the Prestige Series and Reference Series of headphones and phono cartridges. Based in Brooklyn, New York, Grado Labs continues to manufacture some of the most respected headphones in the world including the best-selling Prestige SR60’s, SR225’s, the Reference RS1’s, RS2’s, and the Statement GS1000s. Grado Labs headphones are designed to work with portable music players, portable headphone amplifiers, and dedicated headphone amplifiers.
Winners of more awards than any other headphone line in the world. The Prestige Series SR60, Grado's now legendary headphone, has won two "Product of the Year" awards and is highly rated on Stereophile's recommended components list. Grado's Prestige model SR80 headphone received the "Golden Note" award from the Academy For The Advancement Of High End Audio. Both SR60 and SR125 headphones were presented with the "Critic’s Choice Award" for "Technical Excellence and Exceptional Value" by Sound & Vision Magazine. Audio/Video international magazine bestowed their "Grand Prix Award" on Grado's Prestige SR325. Grado's wooden Reference Series are handcrafted from specially selected species of mahogany.
