Founded in Tokyo in 1954, CEC is well known in the audio industry, specifically in the analog and digital transports. In the same year that CEC was born, the company created a high precision phono motor that sparked the production of many models of analog turntables and record players.

Even though CEC has its roots in historic audio production, it has grown alongside technological advances and even created a CD player a year after the first CD player was introduced to the sound world in 1982.
