Why In-Ear Headphones?

In-ear headphones are headphones which are placed directly in the ear canal. These tend to be inexpensive and very convenient (especially for traveling and working out). They often come in multiple colors. Their disadvantages include that they are “mass fitted” and often do not provide a perfect in-ear fit in comparison to in-ear monitors. Additionally, they tend to not do a good job of reducing outside noise causing the listener to listen at higher volume.
