Why Ear Buds?

 

Earbuds are headphones that rest in the outer ear. White ear buds became famous with the Apple iPod since they are the complementary pair that comes with every purchase of an iPod and are now often offered as free giveaways (even with items like razors!). Earbuds tend to be inexpensive and very convenient (especially for traveling and exercising). They often come in multiple colors. However, one disadvantage is that earbuds tend to to be poor at reducing outside noise, causing the listener to listen at higher volume.
