A 2007 promotion where Ear Buds services where given free with the purchase of a disposable razor was rock bottom. Finally fed up with playing low quality mp3’s to hide his own limitations, he reached out to the industry, recruiting help from the likes of Shure, Ultimate Ears and even Apple (a shock after years of blaming his own inadequacies on the iPod’s DAC chip and cheap headphone amplifier). Today Ear Bud is aware of his own acoustic limitations, but through his column at onHeadphones.com, he is able to let go of his ego and encourage readers to hear that same beautiful lossless music that he himself has such difficulty reproducing.
